Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions? We've got answers.

How does SiteBlocker block websites?
It uses Chrome's native `declarativeNetRequest` engine. This is the fastest, safest, and most modern blocking standard supported in Manifest V3. It intercepts requests before they leave the browser, meaning zero delay or CPU lag.
What is Strict Mode?
Strict Mode allows you to lock the options page with a 4-digit PIN. This is perfect for preventing yourself from instantly going to settings and deleting a blocked domain in a moment of weak willpower.
What is Mindful Mode?
Instead of a hard block wall, Mindful Mode forces an 8-second breathing pause. After the countdown, it displays a button to let you continue. This short pause interrupts the habit loop, letting you decide if you truly need to access the site.
Is my data secure?
Absolutely. SiteBlocker runs entirely inside your browser. None of your browsing history, blocked lists, or stats are ever sent to external servers. Everything is stored locally in `chrome.storage.local`.
